Trip Report - Borrego Valley Fly-Out with Pauma Valley Pilots Association
On Saturday several of us joined the Pauma Valley Pilots Association for a luncheon at Del Zorro Hotel. The weather was picture perfect - CAVU. Even the winds over the mountains cooperated! The hotel provided transportation for us and one of our members, Mike McCrae, was already there with Karen for the weekend and they also provided transport for several members to the hotel.
There were 7 of us from San Diego and 10 of the Pauma Valley folks there. Several other Pauma members did not make it as their taxiway between the hangar complex and the runway was flooded to the level that concerns of too much "prop wash" kept them earthbound.
Temperatures were in the mid 70's which made for a pleasant dining experience on the veranda. Food was great, service was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the interaction and looking forward to our next joint event which will be on April 15th when Pauma Valley Pilots Association hosts AAASDC members at their home field.
PS: just a heads up to those that follow: the restaurant will not do individual checks so plan for that in the future i.e., bring cash ;-)
